Brown Estate: A Family Legacy in Napa Valley
In 1980, the Brown family began their journey by purchasing an abandoned ranch in the eastern hills of Napa Valley. Over the years, they dedicated themselves to restoring the crumbling homestead and planting viniferous grapes, which they farmed and sold to local winemakers for more than a decade.
In 1995, the second generation decided to transform their passion into winemaking, officially establishing the Brown Estate label in 1996. Their first bottling, Brown Zin, made its debut at the Zinfandel Advocates & Producers (ZAP) Grand Tasting in San Francisco in January 2000.
Since then, they have grown steadily, earning recognition for their exceptional wines and their unique connection with an increasingly diverse audience. In 2017, they opened the Brown Downtown tasting room in the heart of Napa, bringing their wines and hospitality to the First Street corridor. The following year, they launched their House of Brown sister label, further expanding their offerings.
With over 25 vintages to their name, the Browns continue to honor their heritage while embracing innovation, crafting wines that stand as a testament to family, passion, and resilience.
