We are thrilled to spotlight an exceptional project that embodies the synergy of winemaking expertise, innovative equipment, and architectural brilliance: Fulldraw Vineyard, masterfully designed by the renowned architectural firm Clayton Korte.
An Architectural Masterpiece in California’s Wine Country
Nestled within the Templeton Gap AVA, at the heart of California’s Central Coast wine region, Fulldraw Vineyard spans over 100 acres of established vineyards. The land is distinguished by its rich limestone soils and a cool maritime climate, creating the perfect terroir for cultivating premium grapes.
Clayton Korte’s innovative architectural design seamlessly integrates with this unique landscape. The project features a Fermentation Building, a covered Crush Pad, and dedicated spaces for Barrel Aging and Case Goods Storage. Each element is meticulously crafted to respond to the site’s topography, sun exposure, and prevailing breezes. The steel-framed structures promote cross-ventilation, utilize night cooling, and provide well-lit working environments bathed in natural daylight.
La Garde Inox: Enhancing Winemaking Excellence
At the heart of this groundbreaking project, La Garde Inox had the honor of supplying essential equipment that elevates the winemaking process. We provided 15 closed top square tanks, each with a capacity of 1,200 US gallons, equivalent to processing 4 tons of grapes.
Advantages of Our Square Tanks
- Space Optimization: The square design allows for more efficient use of space, perfectly complementing Clayton Korte’s architectural vision.
- Increased Production Capacity: Compared to traditional cylindrical tanks, our square tanks enable the production of approximately 1,000 additional bottles per tank, all while occupying the same floor space.
- Optimal Temperature Control: Engineered for precise thermal management, our tanks maintain ideal fermentation temperatures, ensuring consistent wine quality.
- Exceptional Ease of Cleaning: Featuring a hand-polished, pharmaceutical-grade interior finish, the tanks are exceptionally easy to clean, resulting in significant savings on water and cleaning agents—contributing to a more sustainable and eco-friendly production.
The seamless integration of our tanks into Clayton Korte’s design exemplifies the perfect marriage of innovative architecture and state-of-the-art winemaking equipment.
A Well-Deserved Recognition
We are proud to announce that this outstanding project has been nominated for a 2024 Loop Design Award in the People’s Choice Award category. This nomination highlights the excellence of Clayton Korte’s work and the quality of the equipment supplied by La Garde Inox.
